Merck Animal Health has announced the U.S. availability of NOBIVAC NXT 1-Rabies and NOBIVAC NXT 3-Rabies, a new line of vaccines for healthy dogs and cats 12 weeks of age or older providing options for one- or three-year rabies protection. The vaccines are non-adjuvanted, preservative-free, antibiotic-free and thimerosal-free and are delivered in a low-volume 0.5 mL dose.

Nobivac NXT® 1-Rabies and Nobivac NXT® 3-Rabies are labeled for healthy cats and dogs 12 weeks of age or older and are administered as a subcutaneous injection. For both products, a booster dose is given one year after the initial vaccination. After that booster, pets vaccinated with Nobivac NXT® 1-Rabies are revaccinated annually, while pets vaccinated with Nobivac NXT® 3-Rabies are revaccinated every three years.
