Commentary
In John Eades’ explanation of his Examination of Leadership exercise, he shares how-to examples. We believe the use of “you” in discussing an example could be taken as finger pointing. Instead of, “You interrupted three people in that meeting,” consider using a confidence statement such as, “I noticed Sam and Julie seemed to shut down after being interrupted. Let’s keep them engaged and allow them time to share their results going forward.”
