
PPID, or Cushing’s Disease, is slowly progressive even in treated horses, writes Eleanor Kellon, VMD. She says the disease weakens the immune response, including waning immunity to intestinal parasites.
For horse owners who may deworm horses twice a year, their PPID horse may still have long periods of parasite damage. The density also builds up in their environment.
