Binge drinking is a growing public health crisis, more research focus on women

Women have long been underrepresented in biomedical research and may be more likely than men to have some of the most catastrophic health effects caused by alcohol use.
Oregon State to talk biosecurity with 500 ranchers

Alabama second state to ban lab-grown meat
Source: Feedstuffs, May 10, 2024. Link. Joining Florida, Alabama has banned lab-grown meat. At least seven states have considered bills so far in 2024 to ban the sale, production or distribution of lab-grown meat, including Arizona, Iowa, Tennessee and Texas.
For edible bug fans, cicadas are noisy lobsters of the trees

For his ramp and cicada kimchi, he leaves the insects whole and intact in their crackling shells so they’re slowly permeated with a spicy fermenting juice, and serves it with a wobble of soft tofu and warm rice. He fries cicadas to make tempura, folds sautéed cicadas into Spanish tortilla with potato and onion, and bake cheese casseroles with cicada-stuffed pasta shells.
