The parasitic mite Varroa destructor that helps transmit viruses is the chief culprit, but bad weather and queen issues were also big problems in the past year. Pesticides also make things worse because it makes bees more vulnerable to diseases and less likely to seek food.
Guernseys and their golden milk are ready to make a comeback

The unique, gold-colored milk appealed to consumers, the result of a high concentration of beta carotene. Breeders are optimistic the Guernsey can rise again, banking on the benefits of its distinctive milk.
Companies approved to sell lab-grown chicken in the U.S.
