Are you accidentally killing hummingbirds?

If sugar water is left out too long, it will spoil, meaning it will attract and grow microbes. Some of those microbes are bad and can cause infections, including candida. The piece shares two key components to a healthy hummingbird feeder: the right recipe and regular cleaning.
How much water do you really need to stay hydrated?

Dann Albright, CSCS, says there’s a lot of research and folklore with not a lot of concrete, verifiable recommendations about how much water is enough or too much. He touches on the “does coffee and soda count?” debate and asserts each individual should find what works for them, stick with it and let the results guide next steps. His guidance is a) drink when thirsty, b) drink more with exercise and heat and c) it’s better to sip water throughout the day rather than to chug it periodically.
