Cat exposure may increase schizophrenia risk in people

Australia metanalysis researchers found an association between cat exposure and an increased risk of broadly defined schizophrenia-related disorders. Individuals exposed to cats had approximately twice the probability of developing schizophrenia compared to people who did not spend time around cats. The findings, although inconclusive, indicate further study is needed.
