She’s confident and clearly in control – she’s flown dozens of flights like these to save dogs from being killed in overcrowded shelters, but she has to move fast.

Why cats love tuna so much

Source: Science, August 25, 2023. Link. More than 6 percent of all wild-caught fish goes into cat food. Yet tuna is an odd favorite for an animal that evolved in the desert. Researchers say the biological explanation for this curious craving is because cat taste buds contain the receptors needed to detect umami which is in high concentration in tuna.

  

SUPERZOO 2023 achieves 10 percent surge in pet professional turnout

From August 16-18, the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas welcomed nearly 18,000 pet professionals — a 10 percent increase over 2022 — from 84 countries and 50 states. Among them were over 10,000 key decision-makers, representing a six percent increase from the previous year.
