Pet owners want sustainability, but don’t want to pay for it

Dire wolf pups mark world’s first de-extinction
Source: Live Science, April 7, 2025. Link. Scientists at Colossal Biosciences, a biotech-based conservation company say they have successfully produced three dire wolf (Aenocyon dirus) pups. They did this by reconstructing the wolf’s genome from ancient DNA, identifying versions of genes seen only in dire wolves and not in the extinct carnivores’ living relatives. The specie has been extinct for around 12,500 years.
