We’re highlighting one abstract from a recent JAVMA. Veterinary teams will find the information valuable in developing visit and retention activities for feline patients and their owners.
- Investigation of relationships between body weight and age among domestic cats stratified by breed and sex. Link
A low frequency of repeated BW measurements suggested a low frequency of repeated veterinary visits, especially after 1 year of age, making engagement of cat owners in the health of their animals particularly relevant.

INSIGHTS: The most compelling data in this study is that 52 percent of cats had only one body weight on file. Sales representatives from multiple companies frequently have resources available to help clients bring cats back for veterinary care. Practice managers and key DVMs will benefit by using these tools. Feline medicine should not be one and done.
