Almost as if produced by Disney, the VMX conference is certainly XXX-sized. So are the smiles of participants and exhibitors as both seemed willing to engage. The only drawback of a large footprint venue is that many participants are not ready for the amount of walking required. You know the tradeshow is huge when golf carts are used on main thoroughfares to transport attendees from one end to another.

What most of us still refer to as NAVC now has a new name, a new feel and incorporated a special track for AAHA accredited practices. VMX 2018 broke records with 18,000 in attendance according to numbers posted by Thomas M. Bohn, Chief Executive Officer of NAVC.
INSIGHTS: Twenty to 30 minutes of treadmill walking three times a week is not enough to prepare for the number of steps and time required to fully do this conference. Conditioning needs to start right after the holidays to be able to manage the physical requirements of venues this large if you sit a desk all day.
Not to mention the standing room only conditions in many of the meetings, so if you did have to trek miles and miles to get to your next meeting, you had no place to sit. Happened most meetings I attended.
