Telemedicine for pets gained ground during the Covid-19 pandemic. The American Veterinary Medicine Association estimated about 40 percent of practices offered telemedicine at the height of the pandemic. This percentage has since dropped. Telemedicine can help assess whether a pet needs to be seen in person and to monitor chronic conditions. It can also help pets avoid the stress of visiting clinics.
