Employee engagement is a murky and multi-faceted topic and isn’t the same as employee happiness or work satisfaction.
Many owners and managers of small businesses aren’t even sure what employee engagement programs are, much less if and why they are important. . . . in general definitions have to do with the employee’s emotional commitment to the organization they work for and its goals.

- Hiring is tough and no practice is going to get it right every time, even when using an effective, structured hiring process. The last thing to remember is that when you do have to terminate someone, analyze carefully what went wrong.
