The developing cannabis market for animals is a prime example of a consumer-driven market seeking consistent, dependable supply. CBD supplements and cannabis use remains a hot and complicated topic in veterinary medicine. Traditional research is scarce compared to other veterinary products, but that has not slowed the development of new products.
The Veterinary Cannabis Society was created with the goal of providing education on relevant topics and helping veterinary professionals navigate this landscape.

- Educate veterinarians and pet owners about how cannabis can be used safely and effectively in animals
- Promote sensible legislation on a state-by-state basis, which will allow veterinarians to recommend cannabis and require medical cannabis products for animals to be produced and sold in a safe and responsible manner
- Work with the industry to provide guidelines on how products for animals need to be produced, labeled, and marketed in order for them to be safe for veterinary patients
