Continuing work begun in 2014, this week, the Veterinary Services (VS) division at the USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service released an update titled “Emerging Animal Disease and Preparedness Plan.” The agency seeks comments on the document, which expands on the previous framework and describes the processes by which VS will identify, evaluate, and respond to emerging diseases in animal populations.
