The news is filled with stories of the suffering and death caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. We want things to be normal again. In a perfect world, no one would suffer or struggle — but that’s not normal.

When used as a verb, perfect (emphasis on the second syllable) means to improve or refine — as in perfecting a process. Struggling is what perfects you as a human being. There is value in the struggle.
