Managing conflict is not something most people look forward to dealing with in the workplace. Yet, conflict is a sign that your hospital is pushing boundaries and growing. Given that business is constantly changing means that if you are not growing, your business is dying. There is no status quo in our industry, so managing conflict correctly become a key performance indicator of a healthy business.

I have become absolutely convinced that the seminal difference between successful companies and mediocre or unsuccessful ones has little to do with what they know or how smart they are; it has everything to do with how healthy they are… A healthy organization is one that has all but eliminated politics and confusion from its environment.
INSIGHTS: Conflict is easier to manage if you make it impersonal. It is the person’s behavior that is a problem, not the person himself/herself. So instead of using you or your, replace it with one of the impersonal pronouns such as it, that, this etc. This way, you and the other person can deal with the specific problem.
