Researchers have developed a new technique to create meat-like tissue using cow embryonic stem cells, which can differentiate into a wide range of tissue types indefinitely, and have shown that these cells can be directed to form complex tissues. These contained nerve, blood vessel, and muscle cells. The discovery, the authors write, is a “milestone toward self-organizing beef steaks.”
