Ceva recently announced the second phase of a study by John McCall, MS, PhD, which examines the effects of topical repellent-insecticide plus oral heartworm preventive on development of heartworm disease. The results support using a topical parasiticide to repel and kill mosquitoes, rather than relying solely on an oral heartworm preventive. Ceva’s educational campaign elements are represented by the Double Defense Heartworm Protocol brand and the website FightHeartwormNow.com.
To support the campaign, we have changed the image in our sponsor area to the Double Defense branding. It links directly to Ceva’s video series where parasitology experts discuss vector control and the multimodal approach to heartworm prevention.
