Veterinary personnel are obligated to take reasonable precautions to mitigate foreseeable risks associated with infectious disease transmission to personnel and patients. Key in this effort are the rapid identification and appropriate management of potential risks, including choosing an appropriate disinfectant for the suspect pathogen (i.e. knowing the different disinfectant class limitations) and reporting potential human exposures to zoonotic pathogens to—depending on the jurisdiction—the state veterinarian or public health official.
INSIGHTS: If you have not updated your knowledge of disinfectants for three or more years, this quiz may catch you off guard. Distributor sales management can use it to increase sales force know-how to service the needs of disinfection in practices.
