The discussion of electronic hearing protection as a solution for hunting- and shooting-related hearing loss caught our attention. Animal health pros and workers in swine confinement, kennels and shelters and confined cattle areas can experience hearing loss from the noise in those environments.
Different from over-the-ear noise cancelling headphones, electronic hearing protection allows the wearer to hear natural noises around them, while shutting down noises that reach dangerous decibel levels.

INSIGHTS: On swine farms, noise levels may easily exceed 95 decibels during feeding time or bleeding of hogs. Noise levels up to 110 to 115 decibels have been recorded. The OSHA limit in general industry for noise exposure is 90 decibels over an eight-hour work shift <Link>.
