In 2022 we’ve shared the advancing movement of ticks <Link>, that Lyme-carrying ticks live longer <Link> and have seen articles indicating tick-borne diseases and illnesses are on the rise <Link>. While the latest Vetwatch® report shows parasite product growth at 1.4 percent year over year, one might conclude that tick risks are more prevalent for animals and their owners.
For animal health pros, it is important to remind animal owners that tick preventatives provide protection for themselves as wells as their animals.
Considering the zoonotic risks that accompany ticks in various environments, we’re sharing this article presenting hypotheses that infectious human illnesses, such as Lyme disease, are a major cause of psychiatric and cognitive problems mostly not recognized by medical professionals.
