Thank God for scientists who continue to work toward solutions instead of kowtowing to popular consumer trends. I wonder what the GMO-free folks will do when offered a non-antibiotic treatment grown from a GMO cloned cow with human DNA.

SAB Biotherapeutics, based in Sioux Falls, uses cloned cattle with certain human DNA. The cows are injected with a vaccine and produce antibodies to fight disease. By taking the plasma from their blood and sterilizing it in a lab, the antibodies could be used in humans to battle some of the worst diseases, including Ebola and Zika. The company’s latest focus is treating the type of flu that puts people in the hospital.
INSIGHTS: I believe animal health pros must stay informed about developing biotechnologies that will meet the demands of our human and animal populations in new ways. We are the most logical group to inform an otherwise uneducated public about how safe science can solve problems.
