After seven minutes in a prompt tree and on-hold time, the on-hold message suggested I try the company’s website. I hung up and surfed the website for the answer to my question. Twenty-five minutes later, I was back on hold waiting for a live person. During that hold time, I stumbled on this meditate on-the-go article.
Like the 15 second TV spots by CALM, Avik Chanda shares a simple, mindfulness-based meditation. He says these moments of waiting can be not only pleasant and productive but also give you fresh insights about yourself.

. . .the main purpose of the on-the-go meditation is to remind yourself that you can’t possibly be on-the-go every single waking moment of your life, and that it’s perfectly fine not to be that way.” – Avik Chanda
INSIGHTS: Trying this method, I discovered I was clenching my jaw while I watched the minutes tick away. To my surprise, I relaxed a bit, reviewed the information I needed for the call and was pleasantly surprised when the hold time was under 20 minutes.
During these tumultuous times, we need to breathe whenever we can!
