Speaking a different language changes how one’s brain is structured and how it works. This change can help see situations differently and apply novel solutions to problems. According to the school of thought called linguistic determinism, the structure of language we speak influences how we see the world around us. This implies that those with different language backgrounds think, behave and communicate differently.
