INSIGHTS: Livestock stewardship and health topics will be a dominant part of 2020 Animal Health Digest content. I am pleased to see animal health research approaching the muscle meat vs. plant-derivative equivalents with an open mind as if to say, “What if the manufactured plant product is superior?” So far, research continues to support the important, nutritional value of muscle meat in human diets. Animal health pros must promote the truths; focus on the value of population-centric, prevention medicine; elements of One Health; and what is right one critter at a time. Big job? You bet, but who better to handle it than our group of animal health professionals. Keep the focus and the faith!
