Kevin Shultz reports that Leman 2017 did not disappoint. It offered sessions on topics that you would expect, such as foreign animal diseases, diseases not so foreign, sow longevity, antibiotics, veterinary feed directives and a somewhat new philosophy of co-opetition, just to name a few.
INSIGHTS: “Straight competition will not get us there, neither will pure cooperation,” stated John Deen, DVM, speaking at the 2017 Allen D. Leman Swine Conference. “We lose too much.” It starts with a middle ground called Co-opetition — the balance between cooperation and competition.
Animal health pros take notice. This concept of co-opetition will take on new meanings for animal health businesses and professionals serving all species.
