Effective leadership requires much – vision, strategic thinking, tactical skills and the list goes on. We sometimes overlook the physical and mental requirements to be truly effective. We previously focused on the physical health requirement and would like to move to the mentally strong leader.

Confidence is often described as being comfortable in your own skin. There are times that it is necessary to be in the white-hot spotlight, but a steady diet of engagement can be debilitating. The need to be alone and be comfortable alone is necessary to recharge the batteries and check the internal compass.
INSIGHTS: It matters little if you are a single location, multiple hospital or corporate practice. It matters little if you are the owner, associate DVM, vet tech, front desk or kennel worker. Mentally strong leadership at all levels and in all practices is one of the key performance indicators in the most successful environments.
