Make sure to scope out the area where you are hunting and have the phone number for your local veterinarian, emergency veterinarian and Pet Poison Helpline (800-821-6680) programmed into your phone in the event of an emergency. The best thing any hunter can do is to be educated about common hazards that predominantly affect hunting dogs. If in doubt, call your vet.
