More than 1,000 people networked and celebrated during the 14th annual 2019 KC Animal Health Corridor Homecoming last Monday. Animal health leaders were challenged to consider the importance of their companys’ corporate souls.
Attendees recognized Linda Rhodes, VMD, PhD, with the Iron Paw Award < link > for her contributions to our industry. New Horizon Ranch < link > and Rose Brooks Center < link >, two not-for-profit organizations each received a $15,000 2019 Spirit of Service award. The awards were funded by proceeds from the 4th annual Market Insight Seminar < link >. Craig Kielburger, co-founder of the WE Movement < link > closed the program with a rousing keynote message in support of the event’s theme “Rise.”

Corridor President Kim Young shared her thanks for all involved as the KC area was chosen by USDA to locate two regional offices that will create more than 500 jobs. She recognized Scott Borman, chair of the Kansas City Animal Health Corridor Board of Directors for his leadership and KCAHC staff members for their commitment to strengthen the KC Corridor.
INSIGHTS: The KC Animal Health Corridor is home to more than 300 animal health companies. It is the largest concentration of them in the world and represents 56 percent of total worldwide animal health, diagnostics and pet food sales.
