We know very little about developing grit, says Angela Lee Duckworth. “What if your ability to do well in school and life depends on much more than your ability to learn easily and quickly?” she asked. “IQ was not the only difference between my best and worst students.”
In all those different contexts, one characteristic emerged as significant predictor of success: It was grit, the passion and perseverance for very long-term goals.

Grit is sticking with your future day in and day out, not just for the week, not for the month but for years, AND working really hard to make that future a reality. Grit is living life like it’s a marathon, not a sprint.
INSIGHTS: I received this video from a colleague as a must view. With her note she named several persons we both know who have grit. We offer this video to consider in the context of continuing to grow our industry beyond the quarter-pounder financial requirements.
