Kevin Schulz tagged the growing feral hog population as potential disease vectors for African swine fever and New World screwworm last fall. His article suggests that feral hogs can carry the NWS parasite and deliver it to animals that mainly live outdoors, such as horses, cattle, wildlife and even pasture-raised swine.
