Personal protective equipment, including face masks, helps protect swine farm workers from infected air particles, including those carrying influenza A virus particles. Results of a study presented by Joaquin Alvarez-Norambuena and colleagues with the University of Minnesota during the recent Leman Swine Conference show face masks limit exposure of IAV in farm workers.
