A while back I wrote about some myths about leadership that have the potential to mislead potential leaders in their pursuit of that competency. It seems to me that effective leadership has been and will continue to be a balancing act that is always situational.

Balance changes with different circumstances. A leader must evaluate the situation and make a decision…each and every day. What worked yesterday may be completely inappropriate for today. A leader exercises the right to stoke the fire as needed.
INSIGHTS: Each situation different and individuals respond differently depending on their view of the situation at hand. What motivates a practice manager may not motivate a vet tech. Do what is appropriate to the situation and to the individuals involved. If leadership was easy anyone could do it.
