In this article William Oldenhoff, DVM, DACVD, reviews a study that evaluated whether cleaning dogs’ ears improves treatment outcomes. Both groups had successful treatment outcomes, regardless of cleaning; however, cleaning before medication application was particularly important in patients with rod-shaped bacteria.
