Veterinary clinic owners and managers frequently reference staff members who are worn down, tired and near exhaustion. Pandemic safety protocols have added much more diligence beyond 24/7 mask wear. Disinfecting protocols have been adjusted and remain a primary measure in curbing pathogen transfers.
In a recent discussion group, a practice owner shared her concerns about compliance to Covid-era disinfection protocols saying, “. . . with so much going on, I can only monitor so much. That leaves the compliance to disinfection suspect during crunch times.”
Her concerns in one practice situation is likely not an aberration. Compliance to continual wipe and clean is not easily skipped over. The importance of disinfectant contact time is paramount for killing pathogens and reducing risks.
Early in 2020, Virox® Animal Health committed to managing their production of RESCUE® and Intervention® with animal health in mind. With that commitment, different training materials were developed or updated to meet the needs of animal health pros.
We’ve provided links to some of those resources for your review and consideration in updating team compliance to disinfection protocols that provide safety for clients, staff and their animals. Various short videos make it easy to reinforce disinfectant use with a group or individuals.
