INSIGHTS: Risks can come from other animals that frequent a location. Raccoons, skunks, opossums, foxes and rodents are frequent visitors to horse barns and pastures, as are mosquitoes and ticks. Such visitors could increase the risk of rabies, West Nile virus and leptospirosis to name a few.
