Whether it is COVID-19 or something else, proactive preparedness is important for businesses and communities. CDC recently highlighted four key preparedness areas for businesses and employers to consider during a conference call convened by the National Retail Federation:
- Continuity
- Protecting the workforce
- Customers
- Community

INSIGHTS: While not a One Health challenge now, the tenants of prevention apply to the situation with SARS-CoV-2. Animal health pros can bring context to fury of media messages by helping people in our networks, homes and communities apply the simple principles of disease prevention and population control. At the same time, we cannot let the prevention opportunity pass. Rabies, fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, heartworm, leptospirosis, kennel cough, FIP and coccidia are all backyard risks to our animals.
