Beckhoff does caution that since the study of dogs is all the rage these days, sometimes findings can be a little premature, or based on small sample sizes.

A new study expands on the way that dogs read and process humans emotional expressions, exploring the ways different sides of the brain process emotion. Researchers also explored their physiological and behavioral responses to seeing those expressions.
