The Board of Pharmacy Specialties announced veterinary pharmacy as its 17th specialty certification program in a July 21 press release. The pathway recognizes that veterinary pharmacy requires specialized knowledge that extends beyond general pharmacy education and traditional human medicine. BPS is now calling for qualified veterinary pharmacists to serve on the inaugural specialty council or to serve as item writers for the certification examination.
