
The recent swine pseudorabies event showed us how vulnerable our industry is. Sharing what the Iowa pseudorabies response taught us, Tom Brincks writes, “The right response is neither panic nor complacency, but discipline. We should use this event to strengthen surveillance, improve traceability, tighten site-specific biosecurity and take feral swine exposure seriously wherever it presents a realistic threat.”
