A study at Kansas State University demonstrated how lidocaine-infused castration bands help calves transition through the painful castration phase more smoothly and comfortably than after standard castration practices.
Increased lying time versus controls between days 21 and 35 post-banding demonstrated how Solvet’s LidobandTM improves calf comfort as bands start cutting through the scrotal tissue. Also, calves receiving the lidocaine-treated bands gained an average of three pounds versus controls during the study period.

We now have a type of analgesia that was not available before . . . In addition to weight gain, it’s also about doing the right thing for our animals and providing some type of analgesic relief and decreasing stress during castration.” – Eduarda Bortoluzzi, MV, PhD
