When we launched Animal Health Digest, I didn’t realize what scouring 250-plus media sources each week would turn into. What initially seemed like a daunting task became one of the more uplifting parts of my day. From finding an article about the latest research on bovine respiratory disease to a piece about the Comedy Wildlife Awards, finding material animal health professionals can put to work makes my day more pleasurable than it would be otherwise.
More importantly, input from you and our contributors keeps tightening our focus. We never thought that the need for information about us – humans – would rival that of the need for information about animals. It makes sense. We all seek to better ourselves and getting through daily challenges of our business is part of that. I never would have thought that the need for chicken information was as great as it is for swine material, but you taught me otherwise. Don’t kiss either of them, by the way.
Your support as site visitors and readers is amazing. From casual comments to the occasional phone call, I appreciate your input. This is a service built for animal health pros. Your comments, requests and complaints motivate us to keep improving. We’ll also take your submissions if you wish. Kirk Augustine, who leads this charge will be the first to welcome even more input.
The reality that you’re not bashful makes me thankful to be a part of Animal Health Digest and to have conversations with you. Thank you for the opportunity and for making it exciting.
Best wishes for a great holiday! Rick Purnell
