Members of the International Boarding and Pet Services Association will begin receiving the weekly Animal Health Digest Bulletin in July. Pet boarding and daycare is a multi-billion-dollar business segment. The IBPSA is the pet boarding and daycare industry’s only professional business association. More than 1,000 businesses are members, including 140 veterinary practices.
Like veterinary clinics, IBPSA members have felt challenges of expanding pet ownership. The IBPSA provides resources that support the business aspects of boarding, as well as resources to educate, develop and retain quality staff members and teams. Training materials for staff development are often written by veterinarians.
“We’ve understood the importance of including veterinary clinics in our vision and development,” CEO and founder, Carmen Rustenbeck says. “The current expansion of pet ownership further underscores the importance of growing pet care as a community of providers. The community includes veterinarians as well as groomers, boarders, daycares and pet sitters.”
We’re excited to collaborate with the IBPSA. Pet care services for today’s pet owners function as a community of animal health professionals dedicated to dependable, healthy stewardship of the animals placed in our care. We’re confident AHD is a mutually beneficial resource.~ – Kirk Augustine, founder and president, Animal Health Digest
