The joint American College of Veterinary Radiology and European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging® position statement on artificial intelligence is now published in the AVMA Journals. The position highlights the current state of affairs in veterinary imaging AI and makes recommendations to ensure the safe and efficacious deployment of AI in the veterinary profession.

Veterinarians should transparently disclose to owners when AI is being utilized in a diagnostic role, be able to discuss the benefits and drawbacks of the selected tools, and have alternative diagnostic plans available should owners choose to decline AI utilization.”
