Michael Cavanaugh, DVM. CABVP and CEO, presented the 2016 State of the Industry Report that kicked off the March AAHA annual conference in Austin, Texas. The report contains a snapshot of the overall economy, research about the success factors of practices and features a new study from DU on culture and its impact in the veterinary practice.
Ben Williams writes about key points, including the trend that Grower practices are Consistent Outgrowers. Some of these are Power Outgrowers. This subgroup has consistently acted to strengthen bonds between:

- practices and clients

Beyond the traditional factors, this year’s study delved into dynamics of practice organizational culture and the impact of it on the success of an individual practice. A review of the panel discussion is also included.
