The American Animal Hospital Association recently published the 2023 AAHA Selected Endocrinopathies of Dogs and Cats Guidelines. These guidelines help practitioners identify and treat common endocrine diseases while effectively communicating with clients and the health care team. Some, such as hypo- and hyperthyroidism, are more common, with hypothyroidism being one of the most commonly diagnosed endocrine disorders in dogs and cats. The guidelines also cover some less common illnesses.
