To become a Veterinary Technician Specialist in Equine Nursing (VTS-EVN) candidates must work three or more years on the job to gain experience before beginning a yearlong application process that includes writing case logs and taking an exam to prove their knowledge. The Academy of Equine Veterinary Nursing Technicians awards the VTS-EVN recognition in acknowledgement of the technicians” specialty skill level.
