In the article here, writer Jenn Granneman shares perspectives on how highly sensitive peoples’ behaviors are often mistaken for things like anxiety, poor emotional control, drama, pickiness or even a personality defect. In reality, a highly sensitive person is born with a nervous system that processes all information deeply.

- You zone out or shut down in a loud, busy place
- You feel stressed and anxious when someone raises their voice at you
- Sometimes you absorb other people’s feelings as if they were your own
- Sometimes you don’t say no, even when it hurts you
- When a room feels uncomfortable, you know exactly how to fix it
